The spring field meeting is back after an interregnum decisively caused by the COVID-19 years!
On this occasion, we will focus on an area we haven’t visited before: the Charnwood Forest in Leicestershire, home to the expected source of rock Group XX axes.
We will base the meeting in Mountsorrel.
The meeting will include:
- A business meeting and the opportunity to hear what everyone has been working on.
- At least a day looking at raw material sources and outcrops
- The field trip will:
- Focus on Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill, near Leicester, where all the geological strata are present.
- Visit the site of the levelled Aston Cursus, a nearby contemporary monument.
