A PERFECT WARM-UP TO THE IMPLEMENT PETROLOGY GROUP CONFERENCE...

Free stone axe workshop
St Fagans: National History Museum, Cardiff, Wales.

From 1st - 5th September, Dave Weddle will be leading a practical workshop manufacturing, hafting and using Neolithic stone axes. There will be an opportunity to experiment with materials well-known from the British Neolithic, including Cornish greenstone and Welsh, Mynydd Rhiw tuff.

The workshop will be based in a reconstructed prehistoric village near Cardiff set in magnificent woodland, and permission has been obtained to trial the finished stone axes on trees in the surrounding area.

There is no fee for attendance.
