The British Museum and Southampton University are inviting applications for a PhD studentship that takes a global perspective on stone axes.
The topic, entitled “Polished Axes: object biographies and the writing of world prehistories” will examine the iconic status of these objects and the role they have played in social evolution and the development of food producing economies.
